Back at It

I have been meaning to come back and update since we got home Saturday, but it’s been nice to just relax and not have to think too much, lol. We arrive home around 5:00 on Saturday, unloaded the food from the refrigerator, and then Dan, April, and I went to Chipotle for dinner. They have vegan bowls with a tofu ‘sofritas’ option, so I at that. Not the very healthiest, but it was yummy. I’m sure the rice has oil too, but not enough to make me sick. Cooking at home is the only way to make sure I avoid additives, but sometimes it’s nice to let someone else do the cooking–especially after a long day of travel.

Sunday was a pretty laid back day. I finished emptying the camper and then Dan took it to dump the black tank and finish winterizing it. On his way to the campground near our house, one of the trailer tires blew out. I was totally expecting it to happen based on other people’s experience, and all I can say is that I am incredibly thankful that it happened when it did rather than on the road between her and Alabama. Incredibly, the tires have only about two thousand miles on them! How cheap are the companies that make camper parts?? So now we will be buying all new tires for it before we head to Florida next month. It’s always something. One of the guys Dan works with told him that if something is not wrong with your camper, you aren’t using it. I guess that is comforting in some ways, lol.

Yesterday I went back to work. I taught third grade at a school in the next subdivision over from where I live. It was a great class and an awesome way to integrate myself back into working life. Today I will be subbing at another school just a few minutes away for the PE teacher. I have never subbed PE, but my preschool teacher friend told me to wear sweats. I think I’ll probably just wear jeans since I’m not sure what the protocol is for PE substitute dress. I doubt they’d send me home for wearing workout clothes in a PE class, but who knows for sure? Tomorrow I sub in a preschool class at a school a bit further away, but not too far. Next week I have jobs on Thursday and Friday and then the week after Thanksgiving I have jobs lined up for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I think I’m going to take Thanksgiving week off completely so I can focus on preparation and my classes. My bio statistics class starts today and I’ve only read one chapter in the book so far. I have worked way ahead in my Intro to Public Health class though. I’ve taken three exams and am preparing to take my fourth. After I finish all the reading and take all the exams, I will write my papers. They are short papers–only two to three pages–so I am not too worried about them. I just need to format a paper, which I’m dreading. I have not used APA for years, so I’m a little worried about learning that, too, but I’m sure I’ll catch on quickly.

Well, I need to get my birds out of their cage, make my lunch, and get ready for my day. I want to go to the gym after work, and I wanted to yesterday as well, but I was so tired when I got home that I decided to be a slug instead. Here’s hoping today is a better day in that area!

Hi Tammy, you left a link at Lori’s blog that goes to Runner Chick. Are you going to add your camper site link here? We have fall weather here for now and I love it! We put up one Christmas tree so far, it will be for our Nativity ornaments. Our big tree should go up by next weekend. We are wondering if Minnie will leave it alone. I am off to bed. Hugs
